Marla Mathews

Marla Mathews provides extensive experience in issue management, message development, media relations and coalition building.  Ms. Mathews previously served as account supervisor in the public affairs and corporate practice areas of the Texas office of a global public affairs firm.  In that capacity, she was responsible for managing the firm’s legislative accounts on behalf of one of the nation’s leading electronic funds transfer networks and a Fortune 50 global systems and services company, as well as providing strategic support for a number of the firm’s other clients.  She has worked for several state and national elected officials, including Tony Garza, former Texas Secretary of State and Texas Railroad Commissioner, from 1997 until his appointment as U.S. Ambassador to Mexico.  She also worked for state Representative Mary Denny, as well as in the Surrogate Division of Dole for President in Washington, D.C., where she helped to coordinate speaking and media events for dignitaries and celebrities speaking on behalf of the campaign.
