Mona Palmer Taylor

An experienced spokesperson and respected political operative, Mona Taylor has managed local and statewide campaigns in Texas since the late 1980s. When not directly involved in Texas elections, Ms. Taylor has worked for officeholders, statewide trade associations and business concerns advising clients on communications strategies and development, earned media activities, grassroots and coalition development, and fundraising. Politically, Ms. Taylor served Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott as his campaign manager until April 2002. She also managed Lt. Governor David Dewhurst’s 1998 campaign for Texas Land Commissioner, and the 1994 re-election campaign for then-State Senator David Sibley. Ms. Taylor began her political career in Texas as deputy press secretary during the 1990 gubernatorial election cycle. Ms. Taylor’s communications skills are based on a solid journalism background. She began her career in Sherman, Texas, as the county/police/city hall reporter for the Sherman Democrat and later covered the district courts in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for the Tulsa Tribune. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Texas A&M University. Ms. Taylor lives in Austin with her husband and two children.
